About this credential
The NBEA AI Educator badge recognizes completion of the AI Academy, a hands-on professional learning experience focused on using artificial intelligence to enhance instruction, support student learning, streamline administrative work, and promote responsible AI use. Through guided labs and peer feedback, participants develop standards-aligned instructional resources, classroom AI tools, reusable professional workflows, and classroom AI policies. The academy addresses prompt design, differentiation, source-grounded learning, privacy, bias, verification, and academic integrity. Participants conclude by creating a practical 30-day plan to apply their learning in their educational setting.
How it is earned
To earn this badge, participants must: 1. Complete all four academy modules covering instructional design, classroom delivery, administrative applications, and ethical AI use. 2. Develop or revise a standards-aligned instructional unit that includes an AI-supported case study, performance task, or simulation. 3. Create and test a source-grounded learning hub or classroom AI tutor with appropriate guardrails, and develop a professional AI persona. 4. Build reusable prompts and document an AI-assisted professional workflow or standard operating procedure. 5. Draft a classroom AI Acceptable Use Policy and attribution expectations addressing privacy, verification, bias, and academic integrity. 6. Participate in peer review and testing to improve their resources. 7. Create a practical 30-day implementation plan and share selected academy work.
